Kirsten Mekelburg, MD

Dr. Kirsten Mekelburg is the author of the blog Adventures of A Pediatrician Celiac Mom and a board certified pediatrician and Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She completed medical school at Wayne State University of Medicine in Detroit, Michigan and did her residency at Emory University where she earned multiple awards in her teaching of medical students. While there, she also published an abstract on the use of umbilical cord blood cell transplants for a rare pediatric disease. Dr. Mekelburg is the Community Physician Liason for Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Outpatient and Inpatient Rehabilitation Team. She is also a Clinical Instructor of Pediatrics at Emory University School of Medicine. She is a huge Big Ten football fan and makes as many home games as possible.  Dr. Mekelburg currently resides in the Atlanta area with her husband and two children.
