Toddler servings
A list of pint-sized portions for your tot
-These pint-sized portions are what most toddlers need
- Dairy – 2-3 of these each day
- 1/2 cup milk (whole milk until age 2)
- 3/4 cup macaroni and real cheese
- 1/2 grilled real cheese sandwich
- 1/2 cup yogurt
- 1 3/4 inch cube of natural cheese
- 1 slice cheese
- Fruits – 2-3 of these each day
- 1/2 medium banana
- 1/2 cup of 100% white grape, apple or orange juice, diluted half and half (no more than 6 oz. per day)
- 1/4 cup canned peaches or pears
- 1/2 orange cut into small pieces or sections
- 1 slice cantaloupe (1/8 of the melon)
- Veggies and Starchy Veggies– 2-3 of these each day
- Starchy veggies:
- 1/4 cup mashed potatoes sweet or white
- 6-8 baked French fries
- 1/4 cup corn or peas (smashed)
- Veggies:
- 6 cooked baby carrots cut in small pieces
- 1/4 cup cauliflower or broccoli florets
- 2 small grape tomato cut in fours
- Starchy veggies:
- Protein – 2 of these each day
- 1 egg, hard-boiled or scrambled
- 1/3 hamburger patty
- 3 slices of turkey, fresh or deli
- 1/4 cup baked beans
- 1 fish stick
- 3 chicken fingers
- Grains – 6-10 of these each day
- 1/2 slice whole grain toast
- 1/4 cup hot cereal
- 1/3 cup Cheerios
- 2-3 crackers
- 2 graham cracker squares
- 1/4 cup cooked rice or pasta (orzo, pastina, macaroni, shells—give wheat pasta)
