Aminu Mohammed, MD

Dr. Aminu Mohammed was born and raised in Ghana, West Africa. He earned his Bachelor of Science from the University of Ghana and his Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Ghana Medical School. He completed his internship and residency training in pediatrics at Morehouse School of Medicine Affiliated Hospitals and Fellowship in Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition at Emory University School of Medicine Affiliate Hospitals.

Following his fellowship training, he joined the Pediatric GI Center of Central Georgia in Macon, Georgia in 2010, where he took care of children and adolescents with a wide variety of conditions and taught gastroenterology to Medical Students and Residents at the Mercer University School of Medicine.

Dr. Mohammed joined the GI Care for Kids family in 2015. He is board certified in pediatrics and pediatric gastroenterology. He is a member of the North American Society for Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition.

Dr. Mohammed has authored publications on clinical and basic science research and has spoken at international conferences. In addition to his broad clinical interests, he has a special interest in caring for children with eosinophilic esophagitis, short bowel syndrome, inflammatory bowel disease, and pancreatic diseases.

Dr. Mohammed enjoys spending time with his family when he is not working. He is an avid soccer fan.
